I am Marija Riccardi , an international abstract artist. I was born in Yugoslavia on 3th June 1980, where I graduated from design school and became a fashion designer. The desire to become a painter started when I was about 8 years old. At the age of 11 I won first prize for the best artwork in Yugoslavia.
Which was a competition that was for students under the age of 19 I was on tv and radio station to give interviews.
I was born in a family that was engaged in textile production. My parents wanted me to continue with their business, so they succeeded I focus on design, rather than painting.
I enjoyed creating women’s clothing.
Love for painting never disappeared. As I grew older , I stopped painting landscape and portraits. I start making only acrylic abstract paintings. After Belgrade was bombed in 1999 , my plans for the future had to change.
The bombs falling around me was a great inspiration for graduating art , but I still prefer painting in the rain instead .I believe that period of my life was the inspiration for my future .
After that I moved to Paris where I worked as I abstract painter for a while . I didn’t stay in ,,the city of love “ Paris , forever.
My life did not go according to plans but by destiny took over. I took a long brake from painting after becoming a mother. Now I am entering a phase of my life where I can devote myself to my great love of painting abstract art.
I created two themes in 2022 Collection ,,News “ and ,, A New Planet “
My painting technique is abstract acrylic paint on cotton or linen canvas . I painting only with knives
I only use a brash for signing my art . I find my inspiration mostly In people and good wine .
To start making collections in the last year 2022 I have been most inspired by the current situation in the world around me. Some strange changes are happening.
At the beginning of the year 2022 I started working on the ,,News “ collection I got inspired from everyday news starting from the pandemic to the war and inflation, also from the environment.
Brighter colours are used on the canvas and I painted my story which I believe to be true , not the one that we hart from the media.
In some of my art , I paint a little secret story hidden from us humans. In my art , the figures are only glimpsed and some eyed are visible. Eyes represent that someone is always watching us! Eyes see everything, there are no more secrets on our planet. As we all know , the world is changing a lot and we are continuously surrounded by bad news.
There for we can improve our lives by adding some of abstract arts. This can make us feel much better. The painting changes the energy of the home, as well us, giving us new ideas.
Paintings can change our lives through energy only positive energy changes.
